CREWROE STANDING STONE

This is a limestone pillar, measuring 1.5m in height, 0.30m in width & 0.25m in depth,
that local people did not regard as an antiquity, is marked on the OS map as ‘Standing
Stone’. However, recently a case has been made for its identification with the stone
known as ‘Crewroe’, cited as a boundary marker in several early 17th century grants of
