LISSANOVER STONE ROW, COUNTY CAVAN
This fine stone row, marked on both the OSI & Historic maps as ‘Standing Stones’, is
sited on the SE slope of a drumlin ridge, NW of Killycluggin cross-roads. The stone
row has a NW-SE alignment comprising three standing stones, one at SE measures 2.1
m in height, 1.2m in width and 0.64m in depth and the other at NW measuring 1.55m
in height, 0.95m in width and 0.7m in depth, and a third fallen stone 1.95m in length,
1.55m in width and 0.43m in depth which lies against the NW stone. The
discolouration of the fallen stone suggests that at least half of its height was formerly
beneath ground level.
