Located on the highest point of a low hill, this exceptionally tall stone rounded granite
pillar is approx.: 3m in height and at its base is 1.2m N-S and 1.4m E-W so its
orientation of the stone is difficult to deduce. Cattle have eroded the stone, but its
stability does not seem threatened. Lichen is notably absent from the bottom 3rd of the
stone which may indicate slurry damage. 6 test trenches were excavated 20m from the
stone, prior to development but nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered
in any of the trenches.
