This fantastic portal tomb, built of granite, consists of an enormous capstone, 1.6m in
depth, roofing a long rectangular chamber 1m in height, with an end stone 1.5m in
height and is also known as 'Pat Kearney's Big Stone'. The higher end of the capstone
has slipped and is now supported on two taller stones, 1.7m and 2m in height, which
appear to have formed a crescentic facade of uprights with the other stones. Another
thin slab, now lying over the west end of the chamber, was probably the collapsed west
end-stone. There are traces of the cairn around the dolmen. During excavation, a
cremation urn and arrowhead were found. The tomb is also known locally as 'Finn's
Fingerstones' and 'Cloghmore Cromlech'.
