KILLAKEE WEDGE TOMB |
PHOTO by Pip POWELL Dec 2009 |
This small wedge tomb is located on an east facing slope and originally had commanding views over Dublin Bay to the east. It is sited in a small wood called Macey's Wood down-slope from the R115. It measures 5m in length and still has many kerb stones in place but the roof stones have disappeared and the cairn stone infill has also mainly disappeared. It has a single walled chamber and an 'L' shape at the west end could be the remains of a fore-court. |
