|CLOONLAUR I CROSS PILLAR
|This huge cross-inscribed standing stone, marked on the OS map as 'Standing Stone'
and on the Historic map as 'Killeen', is located west of the Bunleemshough River,
inside an old burial ground and opposite a modern church. The stone, orientated NE -
SW, is sited among more recent graves and was Christianized during the 7th century
with a large Maltese Cross, a four petaled-tulip design, enclosed by a double circle,
inscribed on the south face. It measures 2.4m in height, 0.80m in width and 0.45m in
