|CARRIGLONG PASSAGE TOMB

|Located in scrub on a north facing slope at the base of rock outcrop. The passage 5.2m
in length and 0.9-1.8m in width, is opening to NE and built of six N side-stones at SE
which increase in height towards the back-stone. The tomb is within a cairn 8.5m in
diameter defined by 21 kerb-stones. It was excavated in 1939 by T.G E. Powell, who
recovered cremated bone, eighteen sherds of pottery from a bowl food vessel and some
flint from the chamber.
