|This is the first stone that was discovered here, built into the walls of St. Declan’s
oratory, and now stands in a niche in the choir of the ruined cathedral. It is made of
green stone and measures 1.27m in length, 0.28m in width and 0.30m in depth. There is
a fine amount of inscription and it can be seen on both sides and very clearly. It reads:
'LUGUDECCAS MAQI MUCOI NETA SEGMONAS DOLATIBIGAISGOB'. This
translates as 'of Dolativix the smith Lugud's son, tribesman of Nia Segaman'.
