BALLYDURN BULLAUN STONE "The Hatter's Pot" |
This bullaun stone was originally located at Dane's Crossroads and is known as 'The Hatter's Pot'. The bullaun is traditionally thought to have been used by a local blacksmith to cool horseshoes. It is a conglomerate stone measuring 0.85m- 0.7m- in length, 1m- 0.45 in width and 0.45m- 0.25 in depth, with one basin 0.32m in diameter and 0.18m in depth. It is now moved to the front garden of a modern bungalow. |
