MOUNT MELLRAY OGHAM STONES
Mount Melleray Abbey is a community of Cistercian (Trappist) monks and is situated
on the slopes of the Knockmealdown mountains in county Waterford. It has a
collection of 5 ogham stones that were discovered in Kilgrovan in 1833 in an ancient
cemetery. A 6th stone, now in the National Museum of Ireland, was found in the
surface soil of a nearby ring fort which was destroyed.
